After a good 8-hour sleep, I set off at 7:00 (photo 1), with just a coffee and some biscuits in my stomach. I had to run, after all! On leaving the village, there's a landmark which indicates the French Camino to the left, and the detour for the Roman Road on the right (photo 2).0

To the right: I was in the mood for more Meseta! There were 4k of dirt track to the village of Calzadilla de Los Hermanillos, followed by 4k of semideserted tarmac, which seemed like the scene of a road movie (photo 3). But the best is yet to come - 17k of Meseta track without water!

I got the same sensation of silence and meditative solitude here as 2 days ago. I had already seen a deer and a fox furtively  cross the track, when I sighted a herd of sheep coming at me, who suddenly stopped timidly right in front of me. The last 5k here get stonier and stonier.

Here there are conserved stretches of the Roman Road which unites Zaragoza and León (photo 4). But the best civilization of the day was the Elvis Bar in Reliegos where I had brunch at 11:00 with 25k already done. A photocopy of a newspaper article on a wall had caught my attention (photo 5).

The inside (photo 7) is even weirder than its exterior (photo 6), but its boss beats them all. It's worthwhile expanding photos 5 and 7 to read their texts.

6k more of dirt track took me to Mansilla, where I met Teo from Toledo and Llanos from Algeciras, who I hadn't seen since León (photo 8). I had caught up with them after my 2 days in France!
