Leaving at 7:30 (photo 1), there are 6k of asphalt to Carrión de Los Condes. The fountain of its monastry-hotel (photo 2) is the last water until after the most famous dry plateau of the Camino - 17k of stony track through an enormous Meseta.

Perfecto. Las fotos 3 y 4 hablan solas.

Today I walked instead of running due to my new blisters, and I walked alone to feel the solitude and silence. I walked many kilometers with noone in sight ahead or behind - here people were walking in caravans due to their apprehension. Perfect. Photos 3 and 4 speak by themselves.

!Wow!

I felt sad descending from up there...just like in the Pyrenees, the silence was therapeutic, in surroundings as glorious as they were potentially deadly. I stayed in this village because I knew that if it weren't for the Camino, it would be a ghost town (photo 5). Here I saw a house built completely of adobe for the first time (photo 6). Wow!
