I arrived in Los Arcos walking last summer in 5 days. This year, running on tracks, I've arrived in only 4 days. The tracks today were fabulous for long, steady-state running at 140 b.p.m. The fat-burning zone!

The 8km from Lorca to Estella and the 12km from Monjardín to Los Arcos were the best. The middle section of 10k is interrupted by 3 villages with their asphalt, so you lose your rhythm.

Notable points were the Ibarretxe wine tap 2km after Estella and the drinks caravan 6km before Los Arcos. Be careful on the last 12km track section: you're going to hit it at midday and it has no fountains or shade at all. Have your brunch in Monjardín and use the fountain there!

In Los Arcos there are only 2 restaurants for lunch and dinner. The church is nice and that's it. Save your strength for tomorrow in Logroño. The pintxos (Basque for 'tapas') street is famous!
